Arrived in New Orleans!

Arrived in New Orleans @ 7:25am this morning. Took a connecting flight from Houston in a small commuter express plane. 20 or so people on the plane half of which were from Hawaii. I arrive at the Ramada Inn on Bourbon at 8:30am.

Too early to check in so I ask hotel staff to lead me the way to Beignets.. Beignets is a square piece of dough fried and covered with sugar. And I do mean covered. Maybe this is how the Sugar Bowl got it's name. Turns out world famous Cafe Du Monde is just a few walking blocks from the hotel. This is a staple order at the cafe - 3 piece with cafe au lait - mine was iced. ..I will be back tomorrow! and the next day and the day after that... sooo good!

After beignets I head back to check into my room and call Olga and Yana. ..Yana, Mama, dada misses you already!

Bourbon Street is relatively quite. Merchants are opening their shops, occasional drunkards are staggering aimlessly, home i guess.. street cleaners are cleaning getting ready for the new day. And I need to sleep! No sleep last night and the night before so I am beat.

Going Sugar Bowling in New Orleans

Headed to NaWlins y'all! Flight leaves at in about 4.5 hours. Will be taking camera gear on this trip for sure. It will give me a chance to work on my photojournalist style shooting. I'll be posting pictures and Sugar Bowl experiences throughout the week. 

Some people think that this should be the National Championship. Some people will see the winner of this game as this years “Team that got messed by the BCS “. Hawaii is 12 and 0 and the only undefeated team in major college football. Some may say that they had an easy schedule, but they won all their games and that is hard to do. Should be a very interesting match up... " who dat playin in dat Suga Bowl" Cajun Pigeon English?? hmmm.
